The 18-acre site for Genuardi’s supermarket and the retail stores at Springhouse Village Center required the demolition of an existing building and removal of 60,000 cubic yards of earth and rock. Additionally, a high pressure Transcontinental Gas pipeline running through the property posed significant challenges. Extensive off-site improvements included additional traffic signals and the widening of the southbound portion of Bethlehem Pike to provide deceleration lanes.

The shopping center includes 20,000 square feet of retail stores and 62,000 square foot Genuardi’s supermarket. The aesthetics of the Genuardi’s facade was designed to compliment the architecture of the historic Springfield Township Building.
